DT Update

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Shout out to the FAU Dance Team, which did well at nationals. In case you missed it, here’s the update from DT Coach, a loyal and respected reader as well as leader.

Hi Ted,

The DT is back from Nationals, and I am pleased to report that even after competing against teams twice their size (we could only take 10 dancers; most other schools had at least 18, which makes a tremendous difference in creative formations and visual tricks), we placed second in the Challenge Cup Dance-Off (tenth place overall in the division). I have cool pics for you!
Regretfully, we will miss the 4/21 game because tryouts for the new DT are being held that weekend.

You’ll be happy to know I am already hard at work on the 2007-2008 costumes. :-)

Shame the DT will be conducting tryouts the day of the Spring Game, since it would have been nice to get a season preview. Guess we really will have to wait to see those promised red Motown micro mini outfits until the fall.

But, we know DTC will be picking top-notch talent for the 07-08 season. Unfortunately the tryouts are not on campus, or I would have advocated a double-dip, of hitting the DT tryouts before the spring game, which would have made for a great day.

For those interested, tryouts are Sat and Sun, Apr 21/22 from 1 to 5 at Gold’s Gym on Spanish River. And remember, “no baggy or loose clothing allowed.

Michael Buble’s Everything

Friday, March 28th, 2008

I don’t know but this is the first Michael Buble song I’ve ever liked — And I actually love it.

It’s not as jazzy and boring as Michael Buble would ever be. I mean this is it for him. Mix of contemporary rock and jazz kind of music. I don’t know. I just love it. But not Buble — Hell I’m more handsome — Kidding.

Hello world!
